Our guest on this 13th episode is Rabbi Susan Elkodsi, who serves as the spiritual leader of the Malverne Jewish Center since August, 2015. This is Part 2 of our discussion with Rabbi Elkodsi, who will speak with us about how security measures have changed in religious institutional settings as a result of increased gun violence, the repeal of the religious exception for the Measles vaccination in New York, and issues involving end-of-life health care.
Rabbi Elkodsi received ordination from the Academy for Jewish Religion, Yonkers, NY, which is the first pluralistic rabbinical and cantorial seminary in the United States. Prior to ordination in May, 2015, Rabbi Elkodsi served pulpits in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Rabbi Elkodsi works to help Baby Boomers and older adults find meaning and purpose in their lives with the context of Jewish tradition and teachings, and as part of a Jewish community, in whatever way each individual sees him or herself. Recently, she completed a Certificate in Gerontology and Palliative Care from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
